As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be responsible for working within a dedicated team to develop and implement solutions on our Special Education Automation Software platform. The solutions are to be created per a defined scope and plan. Responsibilities include software development, unit testing, integration testing, product testing, architecture design, database development, and software support.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Researches, analyzes, estimates, and documents selected elements of assigned software development projects
Follows prescribed software development methodology
Works within teams to develop and implement software solutions
Actively participates and provides constructive feedback in code reviews
Performs unit testing on developed code
Works with product owners in designing and implementing new functionality
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Minimum 2 years of successful software development experience.
Minimum 1 year work experience with Ruby
Minimum 1 year working with front end web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
Experience using Rspec and Capybara to write automated tests
Demonstrated communication skills to effectively provide and receive information relative to assigned projects
Experience using version control tools in a professional setting
Demonstrated organizational skills to handle changing priorities, tight schedules, and maintenance of critical systems
Demonstrated experience with project methodology
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant experience.
