Job Summary:
As a Java Developer at Concepts Beyond you will use your expertise in advanced cryptography and cybersecurity concepts to work with industry security experts in developing mechanisms that will secure the next generation global aviation communications network while ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Essential Functions:
Design and develop prototypes of security functions using Java and tools such as DocuSign Security Appliance, Carillon SCVP, Bouncy Castle Crypto APIs.
Collaborate and contribute to the global community of security experts to build international consensus on security approaches and ensure interoperability.
Understand various Enterprise Messaging Service (EMS) standards such as JMS and AMQP and devise innovative methods to ensure end-to-end security between producers and consumers.
Participate in writing technical papers such as architecture & design documents, test plans, conference papers, and working papers for the international aviation community.
Design, develop, and assess security models and enterprise-wide security architectures in accordance with NIST, FIPS, FAA, and other applicable cybersecurity policies and frameworks.
Qualifications:
BS or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical field from a US accredited institution.
15+ years of software engineering experience (advanced degrees may be substituted).
Advanced knowledge in cryptography / cybersecurity concepts such as data integrity, key management, hashes, and cyphers.
Prior experience developing systems with cryptography and PKI using cryptographic libraries (X.509, Digital Signatures, TLS, SCVP, HSMs, PKCS#11, Bouncy Castle Crypto APIs, Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) and Java Cryptography Architecture (JCA))
Understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) framework, policies, technologies.
Experience in Java and messaging services (JMS, AMQP, etc.).
Ability to drive projects and work as a team in a fast-paced environment
Additional Desired Skills:
Knowledgeable in cloud architectures such as AWS and enterprise messaging services (EMS).
Knowledgeable in FAA security processes and related infrastructure.
Knowledgeable in industry security standards and governance such as NIST and FIPS.
Published papers in information security journals or conferences.
Security certification such as CISSP or other relevant certs in information security.
