Job Description:
The Sr. Validation Engineer will define reliability requirements, lead the development design verification and validation plans, and drive the team to deliver products that meet or exceed the high level of safety, performance, and reliability, which our customers deserve.
Core Responsibilities
Drive the CES Engineering Team to meet Generacs high product performance and reliability standards.
Define component and system reliability targets.
Develop design verification and validation plans.
Develop component and system test procedures.
Develop DVP&Rs (Design Verification Plan and Report).
Gain a deep understanding of the operating environment and performance requirements for our CES products.
Drive Validation Excellence and lead other team members to a high standard by closely monitoring their design verification and validation plans, providing assistance, and escalating any concerns to leadership.
Create detailed reports documenting all findings and conclusions.
Provide input during Risk Assessments, FMEA/DFMEAs, and Design Reviews.
Ensure that test plans address requirements in all applicable standards (UL, CE, UN, NFPA, etc.).
Support root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.
Manage third party resources (external labs, consultants, etc.) to fulfill delegated work packages including statement of work .development, scope management, reports.
Support product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs).
Mentor and teach less experienced engineers.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
5 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Electronics, or related discipline.
Experience developing and/or validating firmware.
Knowledge of renewable energy products.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and experience testing complex electronic modules.
Ability to apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve products, services and processes.
Experience solving complex engineering problems.
Ability to summarize complex information and create logical conclusions and recommendations.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strong decision-making skills.
