POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations and capital equipment purchases and installations in the plant by applying engineering principles and concepts with the overall objective of improving plant efficiencies. The incumbent will be required to develop, recommend and implement improvements to capital equipment, production processes, methods and controls. The incumbent will display a commitment to Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participates in annual operation and capital budgeting process
• Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and creating solutions to maintain plant throughput
• Integrates Lean/Sigma and Continuous Improvement in all projects
• Specifies plant equipment and process layouts
• Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new processes and equipment, including designing training and evaluating efficiencies
• Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering or quality issues
• Applies statistical and business analysis methods for cost reduction, quality and reliability improvement
• Understands and evaluates plant infrastructure and implements plans for optimal performance
• Recommends preventative maintenance processes to improve plant efficiencies
• Develops standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes
• Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
Desired Candidate Profile:
• 5+ years in a Manufacturing environment
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Extrusion experience preferred
Additional Skills
• Strong computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Understand manufacturing processes and technologies
